We're Inter Tevez! Italian giants open talks with Man City over misfit striker
Tuesday, January 10, 2012
Inter Milan and Manchester City have begun discussing the possible transfer of AWOL Argentinian Carlos Tevez.
The Nerazzurri's Milan rivals AC are also in negotiations with City but the Premier League leaders are growing frustrated with their insistence on a loan deal.
AC Milan are currently top of Serie A and eight points clear of fifth-placed Inter, and it is understood that Tevez prefers a move to the former.
But Inter president Massimo Moratti admitted on Monday that Inter are hoping to strike a deal.
He said: 'We’ve acquired information on how things are going, there’s room to act, we’ll see if we can do it or not.
'There are still three weeks left. It’s not about being optimistic but rather seeing how things are.'
Tevez has not played for City since September and has been frozen out by boss Roberto Mancini since he allegedly refused to come off the substitutes bench in a Champions League tie against Bayern Munich in the same month.
He is currently back in his homeland but both the player and his club are hoping to end their affiliation during the January transfer window.
